Liz Kirk

When Mrs. Kirk took the helm at Yates, she brought over 18 years of experience in education. A Kentucky native, she began her teaching journey at Yates in 2004 with fourth and fifth grade classes. During her time at Yates, the school received the Superintendent’s Award and other student proficiency and growth awards. Mrs. Kirk then transitioned into administrative roles, joining Deep Springs Elementary as the PGES coach, and then served as curriculum coach and academic dean at Huntertown Elementary and assistant principal and principal at Woodford County Middle School.

She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in elementary education from Eastern Kentucky University, where she also studied instructional leadership and received her principal certification.

Mrs. Kirk is excited to be where she considers to be her educational home. She has always believed in the power of relationships and working collaboratively with families to ensure the success of all students.
